Well, what’s the difference between the Malaysian and Indonesian music?
What is so special about them that we care and listen to every strum they made?
They created music just like us, using same music equipments, using same technologies and they even used the language that are not too different compared to ours. The worst and pathetic thing is most of our music bands hardly tried to be them but, it seems that people listens to what they listen.
The fact is that they use their heart and mind. They know how to touch other’s feeling.
Using metaphor and hyperbole in making lyrics can be good. On the other hand, by using it too much, it will annoy people. It would be good if it is placed at a right time, rather than putting in all the ‘elements of Shakespeare’s’ and makes it a total mess.
Most of the music products that came from the so called neighbours did have one important element that we Malaysian, may not have. I have finally figured it out.
What is it?
It is the elements of sincerity.
Sincerity does not come by force but rather it flows out naturally from your heart.
